I recently completed my Ph.D. in sociology at the University of Michigan, and am on the academic job market as of Fall 2012.  My extensive fieldwork for my dissertation would have been impossible without funding from the National Science Foundation's Graduate Research Fellowship, which I received in 2007.

I graduated summa cum laude with a B.A. in sociology and psychology from Vanderbilt University in 2005. Before starting graduate school, I spent a year working as a Research Assistant and lab manager for David Zald's Neuroscience Laboratory at Vanderbilt.

My teaching and research interests include Conservative Social Movements (particularly their interactions with the State), Crime & Deviance, Masculinity, Methods, Nationalism, and Race & Ethnicity.
